How Do I Know Which Verbs Use Être or Avoir?

All verbs use Avoir except for 14 of them that use Être. They can remembered by the acronym MRS VAN DERR TRAMP

Reflexive Verbs with Passé Composé

In the past tense all reflexive verbs use Être. Remember the pronoun goes before the verb and nothing but the verb. Therefore:
je me réveille —>je me suis réveillé.
Reflexive Verbs in the past tense follow the same endings as normal verbs in the past tense.
