Pilot study
A pilot study is a small-­scale trial run of a research design before doing the real thing it is in order to find out if certain aspects of the design do or don't work

Reliab­ility

Reliab­ility
Reliab­ility refers to how consistent the results are. If an experiment is highly reliable if it is repeated again the same results will be collected
 

Validity

Internal validity
The extent to which the researcher measures what they intended to measure
Ecological validity
The extent to which the research findings can be genera­lised to other settings
Histor­ica­l/t­emporal validity
The extent to which a research findings can be genera­lised to other time periods
Population validity
The extent to which a research findings can be genera­lised to other groups of people
 

Genera­lis­ability

Genera­lis­ability
The extent to which you can apply the findings of a particular study to other groups of people settings or to a different time period
