Force and Laws of Motion Cheat Sheet (DRAFT) by

This is a cheat sheet for class 9, chapter force and laws of motion.

This is a draft cheat sheet. It is a work in progress and is not finished yet.

Archimedes principle

When a body is fully or partially immerged in a fluid, it experiences a weight loss which equals to the buoyant force (upward force/upthrust) which is equal to the weight of fluid displaced by it.

Application of Archimedes principle

1) Used in designing ships and submarines.
2) In Lactometers to find the purity of milk.
3) In Hydrometers to determine the density of liquids.

Concept of float and sink

FLOAT:
realtive density
upthrust > weight of object
dfluid > dobject

SINK:
upthrust < weight of object
dfluid < dobject
density of substance is the mass per unit volume.
